After completing this segment, you will be able to:

  • Name all components & explain their relationship to one another, of a class 8 tractor trailer.
  • Have a working knowledge of the proper procedure to drop & hook a trailer from the tractor.
  • Name & explain the major components & explain how they relate to one another, of a modern diesel engine.
  • Have a working knowledge of the clutch assemble & how to adjust same.
  • Understand the operation and maintenance of a 10 speed transmission.
  • Inspect and repair the drive-line.
  • Understand the operation & inspection of rear differentials.
  • Perform a lube oil change & complete lubrication.
  • Have a working knowledge of the electrical system
  • Learn how to retrieve electrical fault codes from the ECM.
  • Understand how the A/C system functions & how to recycle & recover R 134a.
